District communications staff outlined a strategic communications plan aimed at boosting staff and community engagement and restoring "jacket pride" across schools. The plan includes expanded staff and community recognition programs called "difference makers," a monthly communications calendar, use of video and photo content, and increased use of social media (Facebook cited as the most effective channel for reaching district families).
"The emphasis for strategic communication is positive PR," Sadie said, framing the effort as a way to highlight student learning, staff contributions and community partnerships. The plan will combine targeted social posts, email newsletters and a midyear magazine update; staff described piloting a QR-code submission form to make it easier for parents, students and staff to submit positive stories for board recognition.
Board members praised the effort and asked a few operational questions; staff said the approach ties directly to the district's culture-and-climate action steps and that implementation will continue over the school year.
