Board approves GMP amendment for Maplecrest project; staff cites strong bidder turnout

Contractor representative Brandon Poindexter said the district received strong interest from bidders: "We had 18 bid packages and average 3 bids per package," and noted the team was “very close to our budget” compared with earlier presentations. Staff walked trustees through the GMP breakdown and associated project expenses (architectural fees, testing, technology, furniture and a contingency line).
Discussion included a request for a clear system to track expenses and confirmation the district had contractors hold pricing for a set period to preserve alternates. The board moved to approve the amendment and associated project-expense budget; the motion carried and staff will proceed with next steps outlined by the construction team.
