The Cascade School District 5 Board of Education voted to approve the draft 2527 integrated plan, a multi-program submission to the state that bundles targeted investments in early literacy, math interventions, career-technical education (CTE), and social-emotional learning.
Director of Education Brian Dyer presented the plan and said it bundles several state grant streams to reach students with the greatest needs, with nine program areas and a tiered prioritization strategy. Dyer told the board the plan ties expenditures to measurable outcomes, including an 80% literacy and math proficiency target by third grade and an 85% graduation-rate goal.
Board members and staff discussed investments proposed in the plan: math coaches and interventionists for elementary grades, campus monitoring and safety upgrades, expanded after-school and SEL programming, and professional development and curriculum alignment K–12. Dyer said the plan will be submitted to the state if the board stamps approval; the board moved, seconded and approved the draft by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
The approved draft will be finalized and submitted as the district’s application for the next biennium; staff will return to the board with implementation details and monitoring metrics.
