TCISD amends July minutes, delegates limited TEC contracting authority and appoints Technology Director

At its Dec. 17 meeting the Throckmorton Collegiate ISD Board amended the July 20, 2025 board minutes to add language delegating limited contractual authority under provisions of the Texas Education Code to the superintendent for the sole purpose of obligating the district under agreements to purchase attendance credit. The minutes reference TEC 11.1511(c)(4), TEC Chapter 49 subchapters A and D, and rules authorized under TEC 49.006 and direct that the contract be created and submitted to the Texas Education Agency.

The board approved the amendment in a motion by Kena Whitfield, seconded by Brady Ash, recorded in the minutes as carried unanimously. Separately, the board approved a personnel item appointing Amy Dick to the new Technology Director position; that motion was made by Terry Lowery and seconded by Brady Ash and is recorded as carried with a unanimous vote. The minutes include a numeric reference "$48.257" in the paragraph describing the TEC delegation; the minutes do not clarify formatting or whether that represents a dollar amount, and the text as recorded is unclear.
