Pitman reports completion of Vassar Ave. water-main project; testing passed

The borough’s Water & Sewer Department reported that the Vassar Avenue water-main replacement has been completed and bacteriological testing of the new main was completed and passed. Staff said they will begin tying individual service lines to the new main this week.
The department also listed routine operations completed between June 1 and Aug. 12, including meter reads and upgrades, leak repairs at Mansfield Ave. and E. Woodland Ave., hydrant flushing at several locations, and routine maintenance. Officials reminded residents that water bills are due Friday, Aug. 16.
