Pitman makes backyard-chicken pilot permanent with unanimous vote

The borough council voted unanimously on Aug. 12 to adopt Ordinance No. 14, which repeals and replaces Chapter 5 Section 25 to make the Backyard Chicken Program permanent following a successful pilot.
Council President John Fitzpatrick clarified the ordinance ends the pilot and establishes the program permanently and thanked the Chicken Advisory Board members for their service during the trial. "Permanent advisors will be appointed at the next Council meeting on September 9, 2024," Fitzpatrick said. The ordinance passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
