Fire Chief Pete Sutter told the Board of Fire & Police Commissioners on Jan. 12 that the department's two most recent hires are progressing in different stages of onboarding.
Chief Sutter said one recruit has begun riding on the ambulance while the other is close to finishing registration in the NCH system. Sutter also informed the board that the current Fire eligibility list remains valid for roughly 1.5 years, meaning there is no immediate need to select a new testing vendor for Fire candidates.
Commissioners accepted the update as informational and did not vote on any Fire-specific hiring changes at the meeting.
