During the superintendent's report trustees raised concerns about teacher assignment and certification. Dr. Rivera said a targeted review identified about 15 elementary teachers (noted areas: PE, art, music and some 5th-grade assignments) who currently lack grade-level certification outside their existing endorsements; the district placed these teachers on permits and will require full certification by May of the following year or reassign them.
