The West Rusk County Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 4–3 on Oct. 6 to rescind Leah Bobbitt’s status as the "Lone Finalist." Trustee Matt Eastwood made the motion to rescind; Lorenzo Tavarez seconded. The minutes record the ayes as Matt Eastwood, Will Sudweeks, Chris Pratt and Lorenzo Tavarez, and the nays as Sandra Smith, Iris Hammontree and Robert Anderson.
