Yantis ISD board approves procurement, wage determination for LED lighting project

The Yantis Independent School District Board of Trustees on Feb. 9 approved the procurement method for the district's LED lighting project, voting 7-0 to move forward with the contract process. Trustee Jeff Quinn moved to approve the procurement method and Trustee Tyra Kenemore seconded; the motion carried with all trustees voting in favor.
Trustees also approved a prevailing wage rate determination for the LED lighting project after a separate motion by Trustee Ashly Vivion that was seconded by Trustee Jeff Quinn; that motion also passed 7-0. The unanimous votes authorize district staff to proceed with procurement steps and to apply the prevailing wage determination to the project bidding and contracting process.
The board recorded roll-call approval from April Johnson, Jeff Quinn, Ashly Vivion, Tyra Kenemore, Jennifer McKeever, Ryan Ogle and Wynne Sellers. No public comments were made on the lighting item during the meeting.
