During the public-comment period, high school student Danielle Zamora asked the Whitney ISD Board to permit students to volunteer with Paws Place Rescue Inc. and to consider awarding community-service credit for that volunteer work. Zamora requested that the board explore allowing volunteer hours with the nonprofit to count toward any district service-hour requirements.
