Deputy Trump, Belleair Beach's code enforcement officer, told the council the department had a relatively light month overall but continues to manage several long‑running cases tied to demolition and new construction.
"For the month, I had a whole total of a 120 entries that I actually made. 35 of those were new cases. I followed up on 46 cases and I was able to close 39," Deputy Trump said, summarizing the office's activity and noting 20 open cases remain in the iWORKS system.
He described a typical enforcement path: an initial report or observation, issuance of notices, attempts to gain voluntary compliance, and—if owners fail to correct violations—referral to a hearing and possible fines. He gave a specific example of a blighted property on Ibiza Drive East that has required notices and extensions while the owner works toward compliance.
Deputy Trump also said code staff have been focused on keeping construction sites maintained (trash/dumpsters and site cleanup), and that proactive work on resident parking and demolition lots has improved conditions. Councilors asked about specific condominium sites, the iWORKS case‑management workflow and timeframes for resolving long‑term cases.
