Commissioners approve surplus auction and multiple vehicle transfers

Comal County commissioners approved the purchasing office’s request to dispose of listed salvage and surplus property via the first auction of 2025 and approved two asset transfers.
Purchasing staff said the office is preparing to hold the auction for items listed in the agenda and recommended approval of Order No. 543 to grant disposition of surplus property. The court approved the auction order on motion.
The court also authorized transfer of Unit 30552002 (a Ford F‑354) from the Fire Marshal’s office to the Road Department to support yard and travel needs. Separately, staff requested transfer of Unit 4029, a 2017 Ford Transit rendered obsolete by a newly budgeted van, from Purchasing to Facilities Maintenance; that motion also passed.
