Comal County reinstates outdoor burn ban amid elevated fire danger

County staff recommended reinstating a countywide outdoor burn ban for unincorporated areas after noting an increase in local fire danger indices (KBDI to 523). An agency official said the index rose sharply in the prior week and requested the ban take effect at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18; commissioners moved and approved the order unanimously.
