County engineers told the board they will close the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Wildwood Drive starting Aug. 17 for roughly five weeks to allow installation of drainage infrastructure for a new roundabout on the Glenwood Avenue project.
"This is the closing of the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Wildwood Drive beginning August 17 for 5 weeks," the county engineer said, describing the work as necessary to install drainage tied to the roundabout construction.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the road closing; the motion was carried by roll call as recorded. Staff said the closure will allow contractors and county crews to install necessary drainage while minimizing impacts through concentrated work windows. Officials encouraged drivers who use the corridor to plan alternate routes during the closure period.
