Board outlines strategic plan process; current plan runs through 2027

Miss Holland told the board the health department’s strategic plan currently extends through 2027 and that the strategic planning policy requires the department to develop or update a plan in 2027.
"We are to develop and update that strategic plan annually," she said while describing the process, which uses the community health assessment, programmatic data and North Carolina statistics. She also said staff would work to strengthen citizen input through surveys and public forums and would examine workforce development as part of planning.
The board reviewed the policy and approved it along with the other two departmental policies brought forward at the meeting.
