After public comment and the commission's presentation of the draft comprehensive plan, commissioners and staff agreed to continue the development-code discussion at a follow-up meeting. Staff proposed continuing on Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. to pick up the development-code agenda and promised to post notices to the county's participation list.
Commissioners asked staff to schedule a focused workshop on data centers so the commission and the public could be educated on technical issues (energy, water, noise and permitting). Staff said they expect the board of county commissioners to take up related items in early August and that staff would bring any board direction back to the planning commission.
The commission approved minutes from the July 16 meeting and adjourned after scheduling follow-up sessions, with planned public hearings on the full comprehensive plan scheduled for late October and the second Thursday in November.
