Dr. Teresa Wilkerson, Interim Superintendent, reported multiple bond and facility updates and thanked board members for their service: "We appreciate their time, effort and the service that they give to the District." She said the SECC vestibule is completed and will be in use Jan. 7, exterior painting at Jefferson has begun, and Kickapoo Drive work has been completed with limited rope‑off time. Wilkerson also said playground fencing and a building mural are in progress and that baseball bleachers are scheduled for installation before March 10.
Wilkerson announced a full staff professional development day held Jan. 6 that offered more than 70 sessions and thanked staff leads Jackie Noble and Aimee King for organizing the event. She also noted district student accomplishments: 12 students graduated from Jim Thorpe Academy in December and Grace Clemmons, an 8th‑grader at Shawnee Middle School, earned a spot for the second year in the Junior High All‑State Treble Choir. The Celebrate Educator Gala is scheduled for Feb. 18, when district awards will be presented.
