The Sharon-Mutual Board of Education on Aug. 12 received board-development training from the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA). Melonie Hau and Joe Siano led a presentation for the board and superintendent on the legal and procedural responsibilities of board members and district leadership.
Board Vice President Neal Stephenson called the session to order and the presenters reviewed duties that shape policymaking and oversight, including meeting conduct and the superintendent–board relationship. The training was delivered at the start of the regular meeting attended by administrators and OSSBA staff.
