Staff reports preliminary CDOT support for a Rio Grande Trail mid-block crossing if alignment is straightened
Engineering staff said preliminary talks with CDOT indicate a mid-block crossing for the Rio Grande Trail could be possible if the trail alignment is realigned to meet the highway more directly, potentially removing a costly underpass from the list.

Kevin (Speaker 6) reported he has had preliminary discussions with CDOT and that, "they think that they would allow another mid block crossing for the Rio Grande Trail if we could just realign the section instead of going at an angle." Kevin said that design change could render an underpass unnecessary and take the underpass off the long-term project list.
