Board adopts annual rate resolutions for fire rescue, EMS and solid waste

At a public hearing portion of the meeting county budget staff presented the annual rate resolutions for special assessments covering fire rescue, emergency medical services (EMS), and solid waste collection. Budget director Jonathan explained the total assessments: $4,646,874 for fire rescue (residential rate from $127.04 to $135.19, an $8.15 increase), $3,438,647 for EMS (residential rate from $154.69 to $166.90, a $12.21 increase) and $4,505,250 for solid waste (residential unit rate from $360.96 to $377.04). There was no public comment on the assessments during the hearings.
After the hearings the board moved to adopt each resolution; votes were unanimous on each measure. On the street lighting assessment resolution (2024‑48) staff noted district‑level charges ($60 per dwelling unit in Oak Lehi Estate and $75 per dwelling in Southwest 18 Court) and reported no rate change for FY25. Commissioners said they appreciated the staff presentations and passed the resolutions to finalize assessment rates for the coming fiscal year.
