Council approves floodplain modeling, stormwater master plan work and DEP grant funding
City staff won council approval to hire Black & Veatch to consolidate AE floodplain models and to contract with Kimley‑Horn to develop a stormwater master plan, partially funded by a Florida DEP grant.

Ocala staff told the council they would standardize multiple AE floodplain studies into a single FEMA‑acceptable model to simplify future map revisions and improve permitability. "This task work order will update the AE floodplain model to 1 model acceptable to FEMA, which will make future map revisions easier to perform," City Engineer Sean Lanier said. Council approved the task order with Black & Veatch.
