Committee previews middle‑school science pilot using 'Issues and Science' kits

According to Mysiak, the science review emphasized alignment to Wisconsin state standards and NGSS science practices; EdReports alignment will be part of the evidence considered. He said the pilot will evaluate whether the kits "function and they operate in our classroom the way that we want to" and whether there are barriers to wider implementation.
Next steps: staff will present pilot materials and a recommended implementation plan to the August Teaching and Learning Committee and then to the full board for possible adoption. The committee did not vote on the pilot tonight; the item was presented for awareness and planning.
