Library reports rebound in programs and attendance in 2025–26

Mission Viejo library staff told the Community Services Commission that the library restored in-person programming and expanded resources in 2025–26, citing multiple events with hundreds of attendees and new digital services and equipment.

Britney Ritchie, senior librarian of community engagement, presented the library’s 2025–26 year-in-review, telling the commission the library rebuilt and expanded programming after pandemic disruptions. She said seasonal highlights included Wild Wonders and a walkthrough exhibit with combined attendance "over 600," a return of story time that drew "over 900 attendants in this room," and a fall trick-or-treat program that attracted about 500 people.
