Ionia County approves resolutions recognizing ALS Awareness Month and honoring National Police Week

The board considered and approved two ceremonial resolutions. A resolution recognizing May 2026 as ALS Awareness Month was approved on a roll‑call vote with commissioners David Hodges, Scott Wirtz, Phil Hesche, Jack Shattuck and Terence M. Frewen voting Yes and Commissioner Gordon Kelley recorded as No. The board also approved a resolution honoring National Police Week with the same roll‑call pattern (Kelley recorded as No).
