Council previews Crestron voting system to replace iPad votes; training set for May 18–19

He noted that an abstain button currently appears in the interface but said council will not use it at launch until a future software upgrade can remove it.
“So what we would like to do is actually walk you through a test vote,” Jonathan said, and staff conducted two mock votes so members could see the screen flow and confirm that devices and displays correctly captured votes. Council members raised concerns about audio quality in recorded meeting replays and asked for additional training and tweaks. Staff confirmed the system is operational in both chambers and that they will conduct more trainings on May 18–19, ahead of the incoming council members being sworn in on May 12.
What happens next: staff will distribute updated instructions and run scheduled training sessions; IT will continue to refine audio and display settings to ensure reliable operation during live meetings.
