Board amends rules to let committees receive presentations without quorum, defines remonstrance

Jan 22, 2026

The county board updated its rules to allow committees to hear presentations when a quorum is not present (without taking action) and added a written remonstrance definition that requires submissions in advance.

The full story

Supervisors approved Resolution 2026-01 to clarify committee procedures when a quorum is lacking and to define remonstrances submitted by the public. The change permits a committee to receive information from presenters even if the meeting is called and immediately adjourned for lack of quorum; the minutes will reflect that the committee received information but that no action was taken.
