County Engineer Darrick Anderson told the Board that Bridge No. 11501 was closed Oct. 7, 2025 after structural deficiencies were identified; the Board awarded Contract 60119 to Structural Specialties, Inc. for $1,140,282.20 to construct Bridge No. 11525. Anderson reported the county secured approximately $523,949 in Local Bridge Replacement Program funding, which will cover roughly 46% of the project cost, and later presented a MnDOT grant agreement authorized under Resolution 35-26.
Anderson said the MnDOT grant amount was calculated at $429,503.70 based on the lowest responsible bid and that the Board would sign a grant agreement consistent with Minnesota Statutes, section 174.50. Commissioner Bob Kangas moved approval of the contract award; the motion passed unanimously. County staff said construction is planned to reopen the corridor this fall, contingent on typical project sequencing and permitting.
