Nobles County approves ROW for CSAH 14/47 reconstruction, backs HSIP application for dangerous intersection
Summary
The board approved right‑of‑way plat and resolution to advance CSAH 14 & 47 reconstruction (construction scheduled for 2026) and voted to support an HSIP application for safety improvements at the CSAH 10/12 intersection after noting a fatal crash in fall 2024.
Nobles County commissioners approved Nobles County Highway Right of Way Plat No. 53‑104 and Resolution 202547 to advance the CSAH 14 and CSAH 47 reconstruction and overlay project near Brewster; construction is scheduled for 2026 to improve rural approaches to a local bean plant and to overlay the urban portion of CSAH 14.
Separately, staff asked the board to support an application to the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) for safety upgrades at the CSAH 10/CSAH 12 intersection southwest of Worthington, citing a number of crashes in the past decade and a fatality in fall 2024. The board approved support and Resolution 202548 to pursue HSIP funding (moved by Commissioner Chris Dybevick; seconded by Commissioner Robert S. Demuth).
