Resident raises concern about reduced county support for 'The Well' program
A resident asked the Cleveland County Budget Board to clarify reported reductions to funding for The Well; county officials said services were not cut, and the difference reflects a position now funded by the Cleveland County Health Department.

During the public hearing on the FY2025/2026 budget, Cynthia Rogers addressed the board to "clarify a few things" and expressed concern about reports that funding for The Well had dropped "from $249,000 to $187,000." Rod Cleveland responded that "there were no actual cuts to services, the amount was less because a position is now being funded by the Cleveland County Health Department." County Treasurer Jim Reynolds explained the Resale Fund's purpose and said it is used for liabilities (for example, lawsuits over erroneous assessments) and that it is audited annually; he invited anyone with questions to meet with him in his office.
