Resident raises concern about reduced county support for 'The Well' program

Rod Cleveland responded that "there were no actual cuts to services, the amount was less because a position is now being funded by the Cleveland County Health Department." County Treasurer Jim Reynolds explained the Resale Fund's purpose and said it is used for liabilities (for example, lawsuits over erroneous assessments) and that it is audited annually; he invited anyone with questions to meet with him in his office.
The exchange did not result in a change to the budget at the meeting. Board members later completed a vote to adopt the budget overall. The minutes note that written public comments were not submitted or read at the meeting, although the transcript records this in-person comment by Rogers during the public hearing.
