Emergency services report: fire training facility design advancing; EMS study framework released

Emergency Services officials told the Public Safety Committee they are finalizing the design for a new county fire training facility and that construction contracting documents are under county attorney review.
Ryan Bailey said vendor meetings have occurred and that the team is "making progress" on the training facility design. David Dowdle reported training completions and responses to recent storms, noted the IGEL program approval for basic EMTs, and said "the framework for the EMS study was released" with planned meetings for EMS coordinators and a mid-December target to complete the EMS study and implementation plan.
The committee accepted the updates as information; the construction contract for the training facility was described as under review by the county attorney before site preparation work can begin.
