Council moves into executive session citing state code and then adjourns work session; no actions expected
Summary
The Chair announced the council would go into executive session under Texas Government Code sections 551.0712, 551.071(a), 551.072, 551.074 and 551.087 because of an AV/internet glitch; after returning the Chair recorded a motion to adjourn (mover: Mayor Pro Tem Felty; seconder: Councilwoman Franklin) and the work session was adjourned.
At the start of the work session the Chair said an internet/AV technical glitch prevented normal business and moved the session into executive session under the government code citations read into the record (551.0712; 551.071(a); 551.072 for real property; 551.074 for personnel; and 551.087 related to economic development). The Chair stated there would be no action coming out of the executive session and that the regular meeting would be held when the council reconvened.
After the executive session the Chair asked for a motion to adjourn the work session. The Chair recorded "a motion by Mayor Pro Tem Felty, seconded by Councilwoman Franklin, to adjourn." Members voted "aye," and the Chair declared the work session adjourned at 05:46; the regular meeting was scheduled near 6:00 PM.
