Members of the Elizabeth Carey Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a Constitution Day ceremony on the south lawn of the Vernon County Courthouse. Pat Taylor, a chapter member, gave a presentation on Constitution Week. Missouri State Representative Dane Diehl read the state proclamation and Presiding Commissioner Joe Wilson read the local proclamation; the courthouse bells rang for one minute immediately following the ceremony.
Representative Diehl presented a commemorative flag to be displayed at the courthouse from November 2025 through July 2026 in recognition of the United States’ 250th anniversary period (the nation’s 250th anniversary falls on July 4, 2026). Representative Diehl also provided updates to the commission on county activities and ongoing county projects.
