During public comment, resident Mike Curran urged the council to address safety issues with recent blacktop work and nearby sidewalks, saying contractors left protruding pipes that pose hazards. "The contractors should be doing things safer than they are, as there are a couple of pipes that are sticking 3 to 4 inches out of the ground," Curran told the council and asked Public Works to investigate on Oct. 15, 2025.
Curran also raised a sidewalk issue near a church and asked the mayor to review a Dunbar code enforcement ordinance that includes a 7-day repair timeline with possible extensions; Mayor Rezin Hudkins said he would investigate the ordinance. The council did not vote on any remedial action at the meeting but directed Public Works to look into the complaints.
