Committee approves animal-services contracts and sets euthanasia rate for vet services
The committee approved contracts with Canine Cove and two providers for rabies specimen preparation; Legislator Ben Vitale successfully moved to add a veterinarian euthanasia rate of $50.00 to the Otis contract. All resolutions passed unanimously.

The Health & Human Services Committee approved three resolutions authorizing contracts related to animal services on March 11, 2026. Resolution 3-26-HH-1 authorized a contract with Canine Cove; Resolutions 3-26-HH-2 and 3-26-HH-3 authorized contracts with Annette Otis, DVM, and Paula Ospina, respectively, for rabies specimen preparation services.
