Staff reported that the Dinner Bell site developer intends to submit a Deed redevelopment grant application for the August funding round (staff said a likely due date around August 3) and is assembling letters of commitment and a redevelopment package. City, county and developer teams are coordinating background materials and staff said council resolutions will likely be prepared in July to support the application.
Staff said the developer has discussed demolition and that some pre-application site work might occur before the grant decision. "He is asking, he wants to put in a deed redevelopment grant application for the August funding round," the staff member said, explaining the short timeline for coordination among partners.
Why it matters: A successful Deed grant could seed redevelopment on a site that has been under discussion and could accelerate private investment, but it requires near-term city and county support and documented commitments from project partners.
