Board authorizes DOT undertaking to speed county broadband work permits
Summary

Resolution 26-293 directs the County Administrator to execute the annexed undertaking for a 20-year period to the NYS DOT "for the benefit of the New York State Department of Transportation for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of execution, unless sooner terminated by either party." The resolution notes that approval "will facilitate permit issuance for the county broadband project and avoid need for additional bonds to be posted for a given project at county expense."
The measure was carried on the consent agenda. The undertaking is intended to speed issuance of highway work permits for county broadband construction that affects state roadways; final permit issuance and any project-level bonds remain subject to DOT processes and standard conditions.
