Council updates municipal code to reference FEMA's new flood study for annexed area
Ordinance 12 (second reading) updates Title 15 of the Gypsum Municipal Code to adopt FEMA's new flood study for a portion of Gypsum annexed in 2017, enabling continued access to National Flood Insurance and FEMA benefits for that area.

The council considered a second-reading amendment to Title 15 of the Gypsum Municipal Code to update a reference to a 2007 flood study and align local code with FEMA’s new study. Polly, the staff presenter, said the change affects a small portion of Gypsum that was annexed in 2017 and is necessary to ensure residents can maintain access to the National Flood Insurance Program and FEMA benefits.
