Revitalization manager outlines Amtrak work, river path, parking operator search and program awards

The revitalization manager gave a quarterly overview of redevelopment activity, from a new agency brand and website to capital projects and program awards. He said the agency now uses a refreshed brand and that a public announcement will be made this month.

"Our intent is to bring on a new operator by September 1, so we can manage the transition of the existing operator and the new operator," the revitalization manager said about the parking operator search. He also reported that the bathrooms at the Amtrak station are framed and the wall separating Amtrak from the historic depot has been installed, and that river path phase 1 is planned for early spring start if schedules hold.

Staff noted the FY27 budget was approved by the agency board and that the agency pulled from reserves to fund the Lear Theatre project. Program updates included Small Walls (a mural program), ReSecure (security and storefront improvements) and the vacant storefront program, which staff expect to award this fiscal year. The board also reviewed a conversion completed at 118 West Apartments and discussed TIF application considerations for projects in expiring TIF areas.
