Council hears update on possible utility connection, annexation for Minnesota Fresh
City Engineer and staff updated the council on discussions with Minnesota Fresh about extending water and sewer to the north, including cost concerns, possible cost-share, and potential annexation to enable service extension.

City Engineer Kent Louwagie and City Administrator Candace Bruder told council members that Minnesota Fresh approached the city about connecting to Long Prairie sewer and water lines. Staff revisited an earlier estimate (higher than the company expected) for extending a ten-inch sanitary sewer and a twelve-inch water main; the company paused the project last year due to cost but is again exploring options.
