The Village of Addison on Aug. 3 adopted changes to Chapter 23 of the village code to update wastewater treatment, industrial pretreatment, and sewer penalties, including new resampling fees for industrial discharge permits.
Bridal, a staff presenter, told the committee the code update "is requesting to update chapter 23 section 35 c of the village code to reflect the current resampling fee rates." He laid out the new resampling fee structure and said the ordinance was prepared by the village attorney and recommended for approval. The committee had recommended approval and staff requested a waiver of the second reading, which the board granted before adopting the ordinance.
The new fee amounts were presented during the committee review; staff said industrial users will reimburse the village when resampling is required, covering labor and material. The village attorney read the ordinance on the floor at council request prior to the vote. The ordinance was adopted by roll call vote.
The change affects industrial dischargers covered by local permits; the council provided no amendment to the fee figures during discussion and no public comments were recorded on the item.
