Committee backs intent to adopt 2024 building codes under state statute
Director Chris Jenkins presented a resolution to move Sevier County from the 2018 to the 2024 building codes under Tennessee Code Annotated sections 5-20-101 through 5-20-106A; the committee voted unanimously to accept the resolution and forward it as presented.

Director Chris Jenkins presented Resolution 2026-03-XX: a resolution establishing intent to adopt the 2024 editions of the building codes for Sevier County pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, Sections 5-20-101 through 5-20-106A. Jenkins said the change would replace the county's current adoption of the 2018 codes with the 2024 codes; the Building Inspections Department is undergoing its yearly state audit.
