“Public safety telecommunicators are the single vital link for our law enforcement officers and firefighters,” a board member read into the record when presenting the resolution, which cites dispatchers’ role in ensuring accurate information and timely emergency response. The board chair then invited dispatchers and local law enforcement to the front of the room to receive certificates and commemorative coins.
Commonwealth’s Attorney (title used in the meeting) described a joint operation that resulted in the safe apprehension of an armed, dangerous suspect and credited the coordinated actions of multiple agencies for preventing a fatal outcome. “Their restraint and commitment to preserving life directly contributed to preventing a fatal outcome,” the official said while reading the commendation aloud.
