Athletics update: summer programs, coach training and open positions reported

Dean of Students Lorena Woods reported summer programs, new-coach group training, Meet the Tiger Night and open coaching positions as part of the Aug. 6 administrative reports.
Lorena Woods, Stanfield’s Dean of Students and Athletic Director, told the board the district ran summer programs and conducted new-coach group training this year. Woods said the district held an annual Meet the Tiger Night and will host Homecoming Night, outlined fall schedules, and noted several open coaching positions.
Woods presented the 2025–26 Discipline Matrix and said staff will check handbook goal sheets every other week rather than weekly. The administration will continue recruitment for coaches and report back with hires as personnel actions move through Human Resources.
Board members expressed appreciation for staff efforts in programming and training ahead of the new school year.
