Dave Lee, president of the Point Roberts Food Bank, told the PRCAC that the organization applied for a conditional-use permit to establish a dedicated storage warehouse in the Tower Mill building. Lee said county responses required a planning mitigation scheme and a stormwater mitigation plan; he reported the stormwater work is already in draft and the food bank expects to submit the revised materials to county staff shortly.
"That latter part is actually underway and we have a draft before right now," Lee said, describing progress on the stormwater element. Allison emphasized that the warehouse is intended only for storage — "not going to be like a food bank, where everybody is gonna go" — and that distribution services will continue at the community center.
Committee members asked clarifying questions about deliveries and drop-offs and Lee confirmed donated goods would be returned to the storage warehouse. No formal action was taken; Allison said the next procedural step is to await the updated materials from county planner Charles and the hearing examiner process.
