Board approves student device purchases; staff device request tabled

At the May 11 meeting the Sulphur Springs ISD Board approved two student device purchases and tabled a larger staff device purchase. Trustees voted 5-0 to authorize buying iPads from Apple for up to $85,000 and approved the purchase of student Chromebooks from CDW‑G not to exceed $115,000; both motions carried by unanimous vote. The proposed purchase of staff devices from Howard Technology, listed at up to $395,000 and to be paid from the general budget, was tabled until the June board meeting.
