The board approved multiple administrative and personnel items during the July 20 meeting. Trustees adopted the 2026–2027 athletic, extracurricular, student and employee handbooks with an explicit addition to the student handbook requiring students to submit to a metal detector if asked by staff. Trustee Darrell Pullin moved the handbook approval and Trustee Sammy Ruiz seconded; the motion passed 7–0.
Board members also approved the 2026 Auditor Engagement Letter with Raul Hernandez & Company, P.C., and adopted the 2026–2027 salary, benefit schedule and compensation plan. After a closed session on personnel matters the board returned to open session and approved probationary and term contracts for several teachers and administrators, including Marcus Lee McGlown, Estella Lane, Anita Villarreal, Shelby Nicole Garcia and Jack Lee Williams.
