Human resources director Sunigo told the commission the ordinance amends section 34.107 of the city code to retitle, reclassify and create position titles but does not add new personnel. "This is a housekeeping item... and the position changes... just codifies those separately," Sunigo said, noting the changes are already included in the budget.
Commissioners confirmed the ordinance affects titles and classifications rather than hiring new staff. After public input was closed, the commission voted in favor of the ordinance on first reading.
