The board recorded the vote as follows: Connie Burgess — Yea; Kim Chandler — Yea; Julie Jackson — Yea; Nicole McDermott — Yea; Clarke Nelson — Yea; Kris Nguyen — Yea; Karyn Winder — Yea. The motion passed with seven yeas and no nays.
Vice President Nguyen excused attendees at 6:01 p.m. and the board took a five-minute recess; the board reconvened in executive session at 6:10 p.m. Those in attendance for the executive session included Board President Nicole McDermott (participating virtually), the vice president and remaining board members present, Superintendent Ben Horsley, Business Administrator Todd Hauber, Chief of Staff Dr. Mitch Nerdin and Executive Secretary Stacy Bushell. Later in the meeting Karyn Winder moved to close the executive session, seconded by Kim Chandler; that motion passed unanimously and the board closed the study session and adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
