Board approves cleanup work at parcel 33 after wetlands caution

The board approved a proposal for additional cleanup at parcel 33 after reviewing a site visit and scope of work that included perimeter cleanup, removal of dead trees and mulching. The optional scope includes use of weed whackers on a dry retention slope; the board approved the proposal including the optional work at the Dec. 10 meeting.
District Engineer Kurt Heath cautioned the board there is "a natural wetland in the center of the area" and noted the south side is difficult to mow with equipment. Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz said brown bark wood chips are free and that additional mulching will occur in early spring; he agreed to inspect dwindling native grasses at Hole 2 and advise the board on replacement options.
